  1. Med Discharge and pension increase at 55 Q

    Hi,
was med discharged at age 47.
pension is non taxed due to reason being service related.

my question is, will my pension rise at 55 as it would if Iíd left under normal circumstances?

    i left after 18yrs 10months on AFPS05/AFPS15.

unbelievably, I canít get a straight answer from Vets Agency.

    thanks!

  2. If you left with an invaliding pension you will have been getting your inflation rises every year since it was awarded. That means that there is nothing extra to come at age 55 I'm afraid.

Just for clarity, it is the AFPS 75 Immediate Pension which gets inflation rises added at age 55. The EDPs for both AFPS 05 and AFPS 15 pick up inflation rises at age 55 too.
