One of Britain's nuclear heroes is dying every week - while waiting for a medal review promised in JULY by Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson.

Alan Owen, chairman of the British Nuclear Test Veterans Association, said: "We're in a race against time to get a medal for these guys before they reach the end of the very hard road they've had to travel. They've spent 60 years fighting illness, childbirth deformities and their own governments. They need justice, and they need it now."

Only 1,500 of the 22,000 men who took part in Britain's Cold War nuclear experiments are thought to survive, and about a third are members of the BNTVA. They say one member dies each week, with the rate expected to increase during winter.
