It was the personnel from other countries that made it interesting. Apart from the big black whore house in Charlerois and the fact that the inventor of the saxophone was born in nearby Dinant, Florennes will never rate high up on my list of interesting places.

  3. Still lots of hookers in Liege

Just as well then as I believe the Belgians think you are dull and uninteresting too.
I'm as happy as a Frenchman who's just invented a pair of self-removing trousers

The bar on camp as I recall couldn't have had any less effort put into it. A square room with what was essentially classroom furniture and a few pumps for beers in a corner. I did the Int course there and the most interesting thing about those 2 weeks was the road trip to Reims we did in the middle weekend.

I think it was called the "Murf" (multi use ranks facility?) wasn't it Vim? The place where you had to drink Juliper in plastic cups and pilots would get changed back into flying suits just so you knew they were pilots.

Sounds familiar. At the time my life back in the UK was going to sh1t and my life in Belgium was one of extra strong Monk beer and being annoyed by a German Phantom pilot called Helmut (the tw@t)...It was an odd couple of weeks!
