  1. NHS pay rise 6 1/2% over 3yrars. But there's a catch

You'll have to give up a day's holiday. That's a definite No then.
Who does Hunt think he is. The man is an utter feckwit

Seems reasonable to me. If you don't like it get another job.

If you are still in how about your next pay rise you drop a couple of days holidays.

Over 3 years 2% a year. That's a good return forosibg a days holiday. Durst matter that the NHS staff give more than enough in unpaid overtime.

Seems a bit strange to have a red line over a single day, how much holiday and bank holidays do NHS workers get.

Not far off the same as the military really. This website outlines the annual leave entitlements under agenda for change whch was the last contract adjustment, so 28 days + 8 with a few extra days dependent on length of service.

I am currently working in the NHS and personally I would prefer to keep the extra day annual leave as overall the pay gain is marginal (worked out at 2% per year) - around 50 quid a month at my current pay band that is before you take out the 7.5 hrs at whatever your hourly rate is so it is even less than that. One days agency work can easily exceed or that so it will not be seen as an incentive by many nurses.

Also the full terms have not been released yet so I will reserve any proper judgement until the full proposal is released from an official body and not press articles which I am sure are missing key details.
