    N. Korea

So the Donald has promised "Fire and Fury like the world has never seen" if Kim doesn't mend his ways and Kim Jung is threatening to attack Guam if the USA tries to interfere with what they do. With two super sized ego's bickering and sabre rattling neither one will want to lose face by being the one to blink first. All bluff bluster and hot air or more serious, do we care?

North Korea's a bit like these terrorists, there isn't an end game that palatable for normal people and they won't act in the best interests of their populations or followers.

So what's the solution, bearing in mind that they have about 10,000 artillery pieces aimed at South Korea so any preemptive strike would have to knock out most of these at the same time.

  5. Maybe now is the time to officially declare the Korean war over.

This article gives an insight into the hatred of the yanks by the north Koreans.

If Kim wants the reunification of Korea, and objects to having his population and country bombed, why doesn't he try and do it by negotiation and diplomacy rather than by threats and firing off the odd missile?

Is it because if given the choice his people would reject his grandfathers style of communism and elect for the lifestyles that many in the South now enjoy?

Just reading the Beeb - N Korea says its plan to fire four missiles near the US territory of Guam will soon be ready, State media said Hwasong-12 rockets would pass over Japan and land in the sea about 30km (17 miles) from Guam, if the plan was approved by Kim Jong-un.

I wonder how Kim Jong Gloop in Pyongyang would react if say 4 Tomahawks passed over Pyongyang and landed in the sea just off the coast?

Rimmer: I've no idea who you are, but boarding this vessel is an act of war, ergo we surrender! And as prisoners of war, I invoke the All Nations Agreement article number 39436175880932/B.

Kryten: 39436175880932/B? All nations attending the conference are only allocated one car parking space? Is that entirely relevant, sir? I mean, here we are in mortal danger and you're worried about the Chinese delegates bringing two cars.

Given that the Americans claim they have a workable THAADS system deployed in S. Korea and Japan, why not deploy some to Guam as well (seeing as N.Korea have given a 4 day warning) and test them for real?

It's a better plan than actually striking back at N. Korea as it will be self defence.

If THAADS actually works, that is.

From what i've read the NK missiles are planned to be fired over the top of Japan. Surely the Japanese have every right to destroy them before they approach their coast? That way the Americans can stay out of it.
......after all my years of eating pot noodles why do I still have to look at the bloody instructions on the pot?

IIRC these missiles fly higher than national airspace confines so the question has to be asked, have the Japanese got anything to shoot down a missile in lower earth orbit and do they have the legal right to do so?
