    Last of the Great Escape

End of another WW2 epic story as the last of the great escape chaps escapes his mortal coil. RIP

    And of the 1963 Film

"Mr Lyon said.....the Hollywood portrayal of the escape bid, which starred Steve McQueen and a motorcycle, as "absolute rubbish".

He said: "Not one American took part in it, and as for the motorbike, it never existed."

    RIP sir.

Apparently Steve McQueen only agreed to take the role on condition he could show off his motorcycling skills during the film so they added the motorcycle bits to the plot for him.
