    Rugby world cup

BBC have the rights for once to matches in the RL world cup. England's task is to disrupt the usual Aussie v NZ final and maybe even win it. First group game (BBC2 09.00 27/10/17) England v joint hosts Australia. Hard to see beyond an Aussie win in this match and as eventual winners of the world cup but I can hope. The other home nations will have a tough job getting out of the group stage.

We were good in patches and had them on the back foot at times but sadly couldn't match their skill set for the full 80 mins. The result was about right but we had a better second half than the final score indicates. Next weekend its England v Lebanon.

      This weekend
      Sat Wales v PNG
      Sun Ireland v Italy
      Sun Scotland v Tonga

Saints juniors just been on a tour down under. Won all their matches against equivalent NRL teams. Did the same last year, but we just can't seem to kick on. Their juniors go on and make the grade but ours fall by the wayside

The Kumuls of PNG thumped Wales 50- 6. Wales now need to beat Ireland and hope Ireland beat PNG for the Welsh to have any hope of qualifying.
