Veterans Aid

After some debate and trying to keep within our self-imposed guidelines of choosing the smaller charities that reach out on limited funds to the serving and ex-serving community; Goat HQ has decided that this year's money will go towards Veteran's ...

E-Goat Donates £1000 To St. Dunstans

One of the wonderful things about E-Goat is the fund raising that goes on endlessly throughout the year. There is so much help needed by those serving in our forces and those who have served, who are in less fortunate positions in life than ourselves. One of the things which ...

Swearing in public forums

SWEARING IN PUBLIC FORUMS

Ladies, gents and all other e-goat users.

After discussion behind the closed doors of E-goat HQ, it has been decided that too much use of profanity is creeping into the public forums (i.e the forums outside of the Crewroom/Pig's Bar area). We are fully aware that due to the nature of the military way of life, swearing is generally accepted to the extent that most of us would consider ourselves pretty un-shockable when it comes to language or vulgarity. However, as e-goat now enjoys a fairly high profile, we are often visited by members of the public, elderly veterans, and parents of people hoping to join the RAF. For many people we will be their first impression of the RAF, and I'm sure that we would all like that impression to be a good one.

Due to this, with immediate effect, we ask our members to refrain from swearing in the public forums. We have... [Read More]

Tie Pins
Jun 16, 2009 - 12:07 PM - by wobbly

Can the people who have ordered tie Pins over the last few months please send me a PM and furnish me with their delivery name and address as this is not asked for in the order process yet people expect me to know it. I am very sorry that there has been a delay on getting the pins out to you all but as per normal I've spent another 2 months away from home in the Middle East and need to play catch up.

Many thanks.

St Dunstan's and the E-goat Eye Opener

E-Goat Eye Opener 2009/10

E-Goat becomes a 'site for sore eyes!'

Our year with the RCDM welfare fund and the 'Pint and Pizza' appeal is nearly over. We as a site have managed to raise and donate a massive £1500 to this cause. We also kindly accepted and passed on a PS2 and several games which have been put to good use in theatre. Our appeal may well have drawn the attention of H4H who donated £10,000 to the RCDM welfare fund after we highlighted this cause back in April 2008.

Our efforts on behalf of Troopaid and the DMWS will continue into the future. Recruits from Holding Flight RAF Cosford have been packing bags for them. We also continue to assist with shipping the bags OOA. These activities help to make it possible for every wounded service person to get a 'grab bag' of essentials. Our thanks go out to everyone who has sent stuff to initially E-goat then Troopaid and those of you involved in packing and logistics. This work is... [Read More]

E-Goat Security Update
Mar 26, 2009 - 1:03 AM - by wobbly

E-Goat Security Update: Due to certain security breaches popping their heads up on the goat over the last few weeks (Cutting and Pasting Intranet Info and links etc) I am now having to make posting anything from the Intranet a BIG NO NO. This includes normal posts and PM's (As you really don't know who you're sending the information to unless you know them personally. I have been reliably informed that the powers that be are tightening up on restricted information that is being leaked out onto the internet and removing those sources from IGS. Therefore to prevent E-Goat from losing it's "IGS approved" tick I will now instantly ban anyone that posts any Intranet cut and pastes, links or any other information that is supposed to stay within the MOD.

You're all supposed to be mature adults and are supposed to be security aware so please stop and think before posting anything on here as you could be the one who gets E-Goat binned from IGS. E-Goat has enjoyed the priveledge of being approved for IGS viewing for 2 years now so lets not spoil... [Read More]

Update and Reminder.
Mar 20, 2009 - 12:49 PM - by Vim_Fuego
A Little update and a Big Reminder!

The Goat continues to grow unabated and our work with charities stands out as something we all should be proud of...

Why all of us when some only lurk you may ask? Well just by being a Goat member and flicking through the pages helps raise revenue through Google advertising...We pay the bills first that service the site then 100% of the excess goes into the charity pot...A number of the mods but more notably Gem have visited groups involved in our chosen charities often involving sizeable journeys without, to date, ever claiming 'duty' travel just to keep the sites coffers bouyant...

One thing we have done though is take our feet off the gas with respect to letting the thousands of new members who enjoy this great site know that the opportunity to donate or subscribe is still there for all...To just donate a tenner in a year keeps the bills paid and the charity cheques flowing...A subscription is just £5 a year which lets face it is a couple of pints worth...

What you do get when you donate or subsrcibe?

1. Your... [Read More]

The E-Goat is an independent website ran by Serving RAF and ex RAF Personnel for RAF Personnel and thus have nothing to do with the above websites. Jointery? No thanks.
