According to Teletext the WRU are sending people to New Zealand to look at possible coaches, Warren Gatland, Steve Hansen, Graham Henry and John Mitchell are said to be on their hitlist.
Please, please, please DO NOT look at Graham Henry and that miserable git Hansen, they have had their bite at the cherry, with Wales and NZ, and failed.
Get some fresh blood in.

From another thread on the same subject:

My money is on Lynn Howells getting it.

He was caught in the Edinburgh rugby/SRU debacle and ended up sacked as a result. So he's available and probably jump at a return to the Wales set up where he was an assistant.

I think Auchtermuchty got a good point; Howells has experiance at this level as assistant coach and is well respected in the WRU.

And what have The Ospreys achieved under his tenure?
The square root of sod all!

He coached Ponty and the Celtic Warriors but never the Ospreys.

I still think It'll be Lynn Howells but as a bit of a curveball - the WRU sent Jonathan Humphreys to consult/coach the Canadians for a while. Expect him to be involved somewhere in the mix.

Les Cusworth, Director of Rugby. Lyn Howells as coach.

A combination in my opinion which may well be the saviour of the game in the Principality.

DOH!!!! I was too. Dumb Feck!

Lyn Howells is the old guy with a bald head, yes?? He was involved with the Welsh set up when Graham Henry was around, as forward coach I believe.
Get someone like Warren Gatland, John Mitchell or Jake White in, with Jiffy as backs coach and Humphs as forwards coach.

Talking about the game in Wales, I believe the WRU should also start involving North and Mid Wales more. There must be some talent to be developed up here.

those of us resident in the northern outposts have often said that... thing is, to play for Wales you have to play for one of the 'name' clubs down south... who was the guy with the big nose... Rupert Moon...from Menai Bridge i do believe, didnt get a look in till he moved south.

Trouble is, the selectors only believe rugby is played in S Wales
