Like most blokes after having my head having it's ritual head kicking on saturday. I retired to the club house to have the p*ss ripped out of me by the scots saffas and Kiwi, the beers flowed and the banter started and we ripped into england.
After waking with a hangover some of the words have come back.
Ashton took the job to build for the next world cup (as far as i remember. So to this end what was the point in taking Corry, Regan, Shaw, Farrell, Catt etc. These players are not the future, with the best will in the world they are past it.
Looking at the balance of the back row, surely a coach building for the future would want to get an understanding between players such as existed between hill backy and lol.
Wouldn't this world cup have been a good time to get Players like Haskell (who looked great for Wasps on sat) Moody and Rees playing togethor?
In one afternoon we came up with umpteen players that should/could have been in to build for the future rather than a damage limitation squad that i believe was picked this time.
Quick list included Haskell, Flood, Cipriarni (sp) Allen, Voyce, Palmer, there are more (another Glos guy i can't remember his name) but i'm sure that this would have been much more beneficial.
Anyway time for more beer and watch France get humped:PDT_Xtremez_28:
