Today I recieved a PM from a member reference pictures that were submitted to the motoring forum which contained a Buggatti Veyron with service personnel standing around it. Now I know this is a breach of Persec and she fully realises her mistake. However, afterwards she was bombarded on her own motoring forums with abuse from people who decided to take it upon themselves to hurl abuse at her. If you feel there has been a breach of Persec then please PM a Moderator/Admin who will sort out the offending article as soon as possible. Please do not start a vendetta against that person as it does nothing at all. Just remember that people DO make mistakes and this was just a slip up. please also remember that the RAF News is freely available to the general public which is full of service personnel pictures, families, stations, events, etc.

Personal Vendettas aside, there was a very clear memo sent around just after the Bugatti/ Top Gear event reminding personnel of their responsibilities with regard to contact with the media. It specifically referred to self publishing on blogs and in other media, stating that this was expressly forbidden generally and particularly concerning the event at Coningsby. It is for exactly the reasons (Persec) above that this reminder was issued.
Now, I'm not usually one for this kind of 'stick-in-the-mud-ishness', as anyone who knows me will attest, but rules is rules and duty is duty, like it or not.

Sorry about the lateness of reply, but I've been away. What if the person is not a service person and did not get the e-mail? The e-mail was sent out some time AFTER the event as well. In any case, any number of spotters on the other side of the fence possessing a long-range lense could have found themselves in the same position.
