Off Topic
Why is it that if there is a vacancy open in the future, no one has expressed an interest in that place apart from one person who claims it would be an ideal posting for him and his family! What do PMA do? Sit on it!::/:
So angry with life, thinking of joining the fire service so I can go on strike legally!:PDT_Xtremez_03:

Mate of mine got promoted to Sgt along with another Cpl. My mate was a web guru, the other guy, a commcen expert.
Two jobs came up, one web and one commcen.
Web guy gets the commcen job, commcen guy gets the web job. PMA does not listen to either of them who both want to swap. Cue two PVRs.

With the arrival of JPA I have now discovered that there is no priority for postings any more unless you are on a last tour and even then that is not guaranteed.
I'm coming back from Northern Ireland (no priority anymore) as my job has been disestablished (no priority anymore) and I am 3 months outside the bracket for last tour (still no priority anymore).
I bought a house last year to let my kids have some stability for once and went for the "safe" option of Lincoln as there are at least 6 units I could commute to on a daily basis.
Lyneham............nice one.
6 tours in 6 years, just perfect. When I tried reasoning with them explaining my situation I got the party line of it's an order and you're going.(computer says no!!)
I fully understand that the service needs come first and will arrive at Lyneham and get on with it, it just seems that if PMA had stepped out of the JPA comfort zone and looked at the bigger picture I might have had the chance to be near my family.
Rant over!!!

90SU or TCW when I was there was a good first tour as a young TMG and I stuck it for 8 years leaving just in time for it to go a bit sh1t.
As with most jobs, it's what you make of it but I do know of one new FS who's going there and if you end up under him, you better watch your back.
Keep that open mind and you'll probably have a good time.

Thanks for the Gen! Does this FS have a last initial so I can be sure to avoid him like the plague!?
