ok, so i'm feeling particularly lazy today, and thought i might start a thread on new(ish) or unheard of bands.
just put the bands name, album title, who they might sound like and top tracks on the cd.
I'll kick off with my latest fascination:
Peter, Bjorn and John, album is called writers block, sound a bit like bright eyes/ I am Kloot/travis, best tracks on the cd are 'object of my affection' and 'up against the wall'

I'll recommend Milburn and their album "Well Well Well" - they out-Monkey the Arctic Monkeys and are fantastic.

Also (if you like something harder) Gallows, from Watford.

I guess I should also plug my band: www.myspace.com/thelostweekenduk

The Cd's called Thirst for Romance, single (currently getting air time on Radio 2 :) is called People help the People (brilliant)

Mcdoodle would appreciate the mention they did the live lounge where they played my chemical romance's the black parade

Did you play at Cosford's mini battle of the bands back in March?

Cherry Ghost are great - I'll buying their album this weekend.

We didn't play at Cosford, although we were due to - we had 2 other gigs in London that week and our drummer couldn't get the time away.

I should also plug The Polysics, a mad Japanese electro-punk band.

Check out the album "Polysics Or Die" with stand-out track "Black Out Fall Out"
