View Full Version : CIS Tech Course breakdown
I've still got to do mine.
Does anyone know what they teach now.
Now its down to two weeks, wondered have they just cut stuff out or do they read the powerpoint faster?
Do they still do the exam first thing?
do they still cover SMS ?
Exchange?
SUNRISE/ REMEDY?
Any info welcome

Dont know the exact breakdown as it always seems to be changing. However the exam is not on the first day anymore, normally its towards week 2. I will try and get some more info for you and will let you know.

Mug, you been and done it yet?
In case you haven't:
Last I heard (from an SAC who did it about 6 months ago) they covered NT4 (core and Admin), SMS2 (not 2003), MSExhange server 5.5 (again not 2003) and sunrise. They also did some 'how to answer a phone' when working a helpdesk.

Sounds about the same format as when i did it, but we had our Datacomms exam straight after the brief, still passed it (20% wasted effort mind you!)

Hope they forget and I sneak through the net.....

Did they also teach how to get peoples names and details of faults so mixed up, like the lads who do ours here?

Did mine 2 months ago.
Don't sweat the Data Comms exam - ask for the revision CD. It contains most of the exam questions anyway.
There is an awful lot of egg-sucking - for example, I've been running the Sunrise Helpdesk here for 2 years but still had to do the course and exam.

Should have asked for a retrospective Q then. :PDT_Xtremez_31:
