Its that time of year when my mobile is eligible for an upgrade, been looking at the Sony Ericsson K810i. Looks like it has good camera, music player & all the usual extra frills you get with phones nowadays. Apparently you can also use it for text messages & to send & receive calls. Anyone got any experience of this particular model, good or bad.
Cheers in advance for any info.:PDT_Xtremez_30:
Just read some reviews online, but this one doesn't really help me much......

My 13 year old daughter has that phone and she says that it the best she's had. More to the point she's not broken this one within the 1st couple of weeks owning it so it must be quite tough.

Here (http://www.gsmarena.com), most of the reviews are written by people in Korea etc, but they get the phones first and consequently, they get to play with them and find the faults
I've got the W810i and it's sh1t. I've had to replace 3 of them. They keep turning themselves off and then won't let you txt.
Oh and they don't work when you fall down the stairs and land on them and they don't work when you drop them in the bog.

All Sony phones have the music player. The W810i is basically the same phone as the K810i. The K series phones have a lens cover too ! It's the only major difference. The rest is just software tweaks.
SORRY CJ

Yer, I got the k810i and so has my stepson. The phone is very good, just had a few problems getting used to the space between the button (there is loads of it).
Hope this helps?

Had the phone for 8 months now and found it to be the best one yet. It has an excellent quality camera 3.2 Mega pixels with the Cyber shot facility. The radio and Mp3 player are good also and the phone has lots of extra features inc. video call facility, internet, email and gaming. The keypad is relatively easy to get used to if like me you have switched from a Nokia.

Having had mine for 7 or 8 months now, I would say the K750 was a better phone, all they did for the K800 was make the camera a little better. All those features except video call are on ALL K and W series Sony Ericcson phones.
Plug the 750 into a USB port and you could transfer files and still recieve a call. The K800 only operates in either file transfer or Phone mode. As I said earlier the Walkman phones are gimmicks, a way of infecting your PC with sony's walkman music software. Get yourself a free ripper like CDeX 1.51 and drag and drop your music to your phone. You'll fit less tracks on the phone, but you will have less hassle with your music library.
SB top tip.
An added bonus is Vista recognises the K800 and allows you to do more with it so DON'T install the crappy Sony phone manager !

Cheers for all the advice so far. Kind of staying away from the Walkman phones as I don't really need a phone that can store shed loads of tunes on it. Use my ipod in the car & at home, so that facility on a phone would be very rarely used. Swayed towards the K810i purely because of the better camera on it, after all don't really need it put if the nice guys at Sony Ericsson are going to include one I might aswell take advantage of it.:PDT_Xtremez_30:

Nokia N95 has a 5MP camera on it, it's winning some fans too. Although Sony's next "family" will be 5MP..... allegedly !

Seen the new Sony Ericsson 5MP phone called the k850i i think, not available in Europe as yet but when it is released here it will as usual be over-priced to ****. looks quite a nice phone though, SE seem to have got rid of that "annoying joystick" I keep reading about on review sites. Think there was a thread regarding the Nokia N95, I'll look that up and have a read. Cheers.:PDT_Xtremez_30:
