I've been addicted to live music since my first gig - The Undertones in 1982.

The Smiths
The Libertines (small gig before they released the first album)
Greenday - Hammersmith Apollo
David Byrne

It was supposed to be the last ever concert in the old stadium. The lying f******

What dawns on me about seeing all these fab bands and the gigs that other folk have been to, is the cost of going to a gig. It makes my blood boil when you see an overrated old slapper like Madonna charging a 3 figure sum for one f*cking ticket when most folk I know who have seen her reckon it's all synched and very little live. The spontaneity of live performances is what makes a gig great, along with talent of playing live, not perfectly choreographed prancing and miming to piped music. Give Kylie her due, her f'cking voice sounds like nails down a blackboard to me, but at least she doesn't overcharge her fans for gigs.
Same with the Police, I can't believe the prices they charged for the reunion tour, and knowing that demand would be huge, charged £50 to join a club where you would get advance notice of tickets. Gordon Sumner, you are a greedy, albeit talented, self-whoring publicist who is not short of a few bob. I hope your next album of "Tree Pipe Cantatas with Malayan Dwarf Tribesmen" bombs like a b'stard.
Hats off to bands like Muse and Radiohead - they could both fill stadiums several times over but keep tickets at a realistic price...

I beg to differ about more money than sense, live music is my passion.
Some people like to spend their money on smart cars or other hobbies, I like to go to concerts.
I saw jet just after they came onto the UK scene, they were very good, but lacked material. I'm sure they would do a much better show now.
BTW did I mention that I met Thunder at one of their after-shows :PDT_Xtremez_28:

OOOH you know how to hit where it hurts!!
Well who knows what the future holds though - see they have limited the Meet & Greet passes now though - so more tricky these days!!
And the more money than sense was tongue in cheek - if you can do it, fair play to you.
My live experiences of late have been limited by all the normal rubbish - that WILL change now though!! I have a few years of making up to do - plus my daughter is now of an age where she wants to come with me, so I can take her as an excuse!!!:PDT_Xtremez_28:

If it wasn't bad enough reading the war poetry I now have to read that I am indeed the saddest member of e-goat... with the exception of TM and CT.
I have seen -
The Almighty
Skid Row
Thunder - All at Donnington Monsters of Rock approx 1991? One of the years Maiden were headlining (Maiden are not on this list as I was passed out in a car in the car park by the time they came on... they sounded good and the fireworks were pretty though!!)
Human league - UEA. Brilliant concert, they look almost the same. **** support act, took ages to figure out it was some 1980's keyboard legend that only MitV recognised!
2005
Saw Jools at the UEA with Sam Brown and Ruby Turner as per BUT Marc Almond as the surprise guest! An accapela and orchestral version of 'Tainted Love' with hundreds of ****ed student and us singing along.... Fab
thats all.... was invited to Kylie for free but can't stand huge crowds so didn't go... Dohhh!!

Should've posted this earlier.
Saw Marillion on Monday night at the Wolves Civic.
Absolutly brilliant. Played their new, and 14th, album 'Somewhere Else', along with various songs from previous H-era albums. Plus, they did 3 encores.
Only dissappointment was no Fish-era songs were played.:PDT_Xtremez_37:
Think they're leaving them for the Big Man to sing.
On that subject, off to see Fish at Robin2, Bilston in September.:PDT_Xtremez_30:
Saw him on his 'Return to Childhood' (20th anniversary of Misplaced Childhood's release) tour last year.

I seem to have a bit of a metal theme going on here,

Electric Six, don't bother, utter ****e.
The Who at the IOW Festival, the Manics were there too and they sucked.
