Another big passion of mine - Northern Soul!!
HUGE collection of stuff - and as for dancing - used to regularly go to a Northern night - great stuff!! Still love it.
Paul Weller IS god - simple!!
Not going to bother going to see the reuinion tour as wont be the same without him.
Had an Li175 - that was my Exs, and mine was a PX125 - left it in bits when I left the Ex!!
Still got my flight jacket and my bleached denim with my patches on!!
Secret Affair, Lambrettas, Long Tall Shorty, the Gents (great live!), and the like. Love Motown, seen the Four Tops live along witn many others.
For those in the Lincs area, there is still a great Northern night regularly at Horncastle Golf club!! And several more in the area! Happy to trot along to one if anyone goes and wants a mad dancer (who dances like an epileptic spider!!) with them!!!!

Just because my other passions are rock & a fair bit of Goth stuff these days, doesnt mean I still cant love my Northern - always will!! Trying to convert people as we speak - something uplifting about it that I have never found in anthing else!!

You've let me down now Kat. I wouldn't say that I like Metal exclusively at the exclusion of everything else, but it HAS got to have screaming guitars in it!!

You never listened to some of the Who or Small Faces stuff then RB???
You want screaming guitars - check it out.

Yardbirds too - that one is self explanitory!!

Im just a lover of all things musical - from classical right through - but always had a love of guitar based stuff - being a fellow guitarist, I am sure you appreciate that.

But don't think that Northern Soul is all sugary sweet and Motown-esque - It aint! It is raw, with an edge, and a lot of fine tracks that may surprise you!!! There have been many people who have had a preconceived idea of what it will sound like, until I have played them some of the less "over-played" stuff - should give it a try sometime!!

My favorite male singer is Billy bragg. Now I know he hasn't got the best voice in the world, but some of his lyrics are amazing.

I've seen Uncle Billy about 8 times over the years. I will never forget the first time I heard "Life's A Riot..." absolutely changed my life.

I had the priviledge to hear him speak at a book signing just before Christmas. I also got to chat briefly and get a nice photo with him.

Top, top man.

Musical tastes change - as we do as people.
My love of the mod scene will never leave me, even though I have now reverted back to my former rock chick self!!
Still got my Ben Shermans too - and plenty of Wigan Casino polos and the like.
My musical taste varies from the classical to the extremes. My passions will always remain the same though. That for music in general. Will always have favourite bits - but I am old enough now not to think I have to fit into one stereotypical niche.
