Take a look at the FAI website. Irish rugby and football will get a new £237m

50,00 capacity stadium. Lansdowne Road has world renown as the home of Irish Rugby for 130 years

They've got enough brickies and hod carriers over there so it shouldn't take long:PDT_Xtremez_30:

Just hope the new place has as much atmosphere as the old place, which was superb.

Its just passed planning, that's why I think. There was alot of objections due to nearby homes having to be demolished to make way for the larger stadium.

I'm assuming MM that you meant 50,000 seats?

Doesn't that sound a little light to anybody else? 50k IMO is no-where near enough seats with regards to international ticket demand these days...

I drove past it last Saturday and i was the last game at it. Shame to see it go but it is falling apart and you can see it at the sides of the West Stand. I would imagine the extra 5,000 seats would most likely be tickets that go to banks and other big companys.
