HTD query

Hello all. wonder if any admin type people coould help me please. I live out from my unit and receive HTD. This month i received £18 less than i consistently get. Having never previously had a drop at all have i been lucky in the past? (ie no-one actioning any deductions i should have had) Would this be down to me having 3 days leave last month? Only asking as im on permanent nights at the moment and the chance to speak to hr staff is difficult at the mo. I appreciate any help in this matter, many thanks.:PDT_Xtremez_19:

You get paid HTD whilst on leave, have you been detached anywhere last month ?

The other thing to check is; has your HTD contribution gone up or your HTD gone down ? compare previous chits.

Haven't been detatched all else seems in order, i did compare chits. didnt want to kick up too much fuss at first incase i got all my leave deductions back dated!!!

There will be 2 different HTD figures on your pay chit, one is what they give you and the other is your contribution. Which one of yours has changed ?

both have come down from januarys pay chit

It may well be you have been paid too much in the past:PDT_Xtremez_42: , maybe a shiney a on your unit can confirm. What I would do is try and find somebody who lives a similar mileage from camp as you do and compare notes.

It could be that HTD is paid on a daily rate. Therefore as Feb is only 28 days, could this be the reason?

It may be a mileage change. I heard they were changing it so that it was edge of postcode to postcode. so if you lived on the near side you get what u need, if yoou live on the far edge you dip out a bit.

But I think its cos FEB has 28 days and DEC and JAN have 31 (ie 3 days more!!)
you dont tend to notice difference between 30 and 31 though.

If all else fails look at the JSP and it will tell you what you should get a day.

I think RHS has got it right. On another note, I have not seen anyone complain that they have got more than they thought that they should have had for Feb; yes, everyone has only paid 28 days fd & accm or rent.

might be a bone question but how come we have to contribute so many miles when getting HTD? We already fork out for the petrol in the first place then get charged extra for asking for it back? seems bizarro.

The idea is that if you live in public accommodation you should reasonably expect to be housed within one mile of your place of work, so we are compensated for the excess mileage.

Similarly, we are told that your average civvie travels 9 miles each way to work - at his own expense, civvies by and large don't get HTD. So, if you live in your own home or privately-rented accommodation then you pay for the first 9 miles.

Pre-JPA people didn't notice the deduction because it was deducted at source and you were paid the net figure. Now the deduction is more obvious.

roger-doger. If it ain't sorted, get your unit HR to report it as a corrupt arrival to the BS&D, my guess an arrival has been put on wrong and that will screw up HDT/Food Charges. Easily fixed if it is, but not by the unit.
