Now this statement has me really puzzled because I don't know anyone who has got any extra people

We get new blokes just about every week. Unfortunately - they are all Navy trainees!

It's all about percentages.

If they decrease the amount of manpower you are scaled for, then they get nearer to that quota as a percentage without actually having to post anybody in.

Could it be a timely story to 'umbrella' a poor pay rise? i.e. we've no reason to break inflation as numbers are stated as rising again so you're all happy....

There aren't any new people, they've just decreased the establishment (it's in the small print). Apparently it's easier to say we don't need so many people than to admit we are having a recruitment and retention crisis.

We have had ONE bloke posted in since we got to Coningsby! He has also got his posting out (to Waddo) within a month of coming onboard. Nice one!!:PDT_Xtremez_35:

Why can nobody upstairs tell the FCUKING TRUTH::/:

It's all just spin and lies! This is my favourite bit: The maximum manning requirement has decreased to meet current and future operational demands.

What planet are these wankers on?

Quote Two areas of improvement include recruitment and retention. The number of recruits starting their training is up by 280 from the previous quarter. The number of people leaving the regular UK forces has dropped overall by 250 with those handing in their notice across all three services decreasing from the previous quarter. Quote

Recruiting is up on the last quarter. Really!!! can't say I have noticed more happy little bods milling about here at the West Midlands training college. Maybe all the new recruits aren't techies.
So fewer people are PVRing then and it's official. PAH Humbug
As some one said lots of smoke and big mirrors on this one. Nice bean counter move to claim we have enough people by changing the figures. Fools in ivory towers believing weasel words being whispered in their ears. Grimer worm tongue anybody?

Sweet! Less work coming up then? Fewer OOA's?

Does that take into account the redundancies? Will PVR's go back up next time the report is done?

Doesn't look like PVRs have been counted here.

Smoke and mirrors, as has already been said. Or as I have said on other threads - you can prove anything with statistics.::/:
