I'm due a posting on promotion in the summer (TG4 CIS Tech), quite fancy a move up to Leeming, therefore I have a couple of questions,if anyone on here knows.
1. What are the quarters like, are they of a reasonable size? we are entitled to a 3 bedroom house.
2. Whats the manpower situation? there was a time when a request to go on ERAS would be a dead cert, still so? and is the ground radio still run bt RAF or is it civvie?
3.Whats the camp like generally?
cheers if U can help.

Not at Leeming myself but 5 Sqn TCW due up there in August so should be loads of slots, I know they're trawling for volunteer to go there at the moment as lots of peopleare trying to get away before the move.

Ground radio up there would be your best bet.
was at leeming for 7 1/2 years put down that you want a qtr on "the spinney" they are the best and all have garages. The camp itself is ok. local town is bedale and is good for a night out, after that you have northallerton 8 miles away and then darlington about 20 miles, good access to anywhere being on the A1.

Am at Leeming at the mo as part of 1 Sqn TCW.
Quarters are all ok, The Spinney are easily the best but even woodland estate is ok. It is a bit of a trek for the weekly shop but Tesco at Catterick deliver for a small fee.
Work wise, most of the work up here for TG 3/4/5 & 11 is Det, Sunny Det, Det, IRT, Det etc,
Sound Familiar.

just make sure you have a car, oh and a good pair of walking boots as some of the views on walks around there are stunning:PDT_Xtremez_14:

1. Quarters OK, fairly modern. The Spinney Quarters are slightly better, but none of them are bad. Within the wire, so you'll have to book visitors on camp.
2. Can't comment on trade specifics.
3. A lot of info can be found in one of my previous posts : http://www.e-goat.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=4724&highlight=leeming as this has been done before, albeit slightly differently.
