I'm due home from the sandpit in just over a week and am planning on blowing some of my LSSA on a Nintendo Wii for my kids.
Before I went away they were almost impossible to get hold of in the shops. Has this situaution changed at all in the last couple of months?
Also, can anybody who has a Wii recomend any decent games worth getting with it.
Thanks
MM
We got one at the start of Jan. Wii'd looked in tons of places but as you say were in very short supply.
Mrs Insty went into Argos for something else, so whilst wii were in there I typed in the code and it said 2 available so I went to pay and the bloke on the till said that the 2 available we for pre-order and wii'd have wait for a couple of days and sure enough 3 days later wii had a wii! (Sorry for that!)
It's great fun and all the familiy enjoy wiiing. Wii currently have 3 games, Sports, Play and Wario Ware (Smooth moves) and all are very capable of making you look bloody silly. When playing sports though, leave plenty of space between you and everything and everyone else or you might end up causing or getting an injurwii! (Sorry again)
Top tip though, get at least 2 controllers and nunchuck adapter thingys then you can legally box the missus without leaving marks!!:PDT_Xtremez_03:
Our 17 y/o godson came round last wiikend and showed us how to use the wirless connection and download games for it over 'tinterweb. It's all very clever.

How old are the "kids"? i have 5 titles(zelda, red steel, cod3, raving rabbids, wii play) + wii sports, as a cheaper way to get some fun games get Wii play which comes with a wiimote and then buy a nunchuck seperately, :PDT_Xtremez_28:

Sorry hate to rain on anyones parade but you would have to go one hell of a way to snap the wrist strap(even the original ones) if you noticed in any clips or pics the straps were still attached to the controllers so no they didn't snap they were not on the wrist or not on at all.
I've slung mine pretty hard out of frustration at times but the strap has never broken and never flew off my wrists because i followed the nice big warnings that pop up at the start of ALL games about the strap.
All that aside play Rayman Ravin Rabbids and you carry out some pretty dodgy hand actions :PDT_Xtremez_30:

Dude, mrs brat and myself spent a very enjoyable new years eve at a friends house playing Wii Bowling. It's great fun, easy access to cheap beer and no having to wait for the toilets. :PDT_Xtremez_30:
Mono is right about the strap though, I was whipping my arm down to release the ball and my dog walked across in front of me. The force of the impact knocked the dog silly and tore the controller out of my hand, it ended up behind the telly after bouncing off the ceiling. :raf: :PDT_Xtremez_42:
SB jnr had us all playing again , with him of course, on new years day. :PDT_Xtremez_30:
I am definately buying one, for me, and don't care if bowling is the only thing we play. Although I did enjoy the baseball too :PDT_Xtremez_14:
