If have been lucky enough to land on my feet, I get a job interview, they offer the position to me. Where do I stand with the latest hold you up principle, I have heard all the rumors.
1. Can I get out with 1 months notice?
2. Could I do it in under 6 mths?
3. Or is it a 12mth hell for me, knowing I have the missed the job opportunity of my life?
Guys in the Admin trades I await your understanding with baited breath.

1. Not in a million years. We had a guy up here going through his MP for exactly that and got nowhere.
2. Totally depends upon manning in your particular trade. If you have a valid job offer and attach it to your PVR form, as long as your bosses quote 'we are willing to run light' then you could get out in time for the job offer.
3. If your trade is seriously undermanned and your bosses aren't willing to run light in order to let you go, you will be living the RAF dream for the duration of your notice period.
Good luck anyway.

If your ticker is correct, and its 18 months till pension, then I hope its a bloody good job to consider leaving at this stage and not receiving an immediate pension.

That's my 18mths notice from my 22 point so I actually only have to do 23 days till immediate pension point.
