Golf at Al Udeid

Off to sunnier climes later this year. The Doha Golf Club looks fantastic and cheap. If anyone has been to Al Udeid before could you PM me with off base travel restrictions. 4 months without a round is unthinkable!

Was there during the summer, travel to Doha was straight forward, you just needed to apply through the Force Protection guys. Usual restrictions, travel in pairs etc however the road to Doha is a nightmare. It could take over an hour to get there in the usual middle eastern wacky races.

Not a golf player but did my four months arriving back last march. Guy in office has just returned. PM me for details of stuff to do etc...rather than me post it in public.

In the Deid as I write this and off to Doha next week! To get down town you gotta go see the Rock Apes at Police Flt who'll give you a little briefette on the do's and dont's. You must however be booked, by them, into a certain hotel, bar etc. It's not as simple as just bimbling around town. If my memory serves me correctly, the good to go list has a Golf club on it so you should be in luck!
