just been to the new bar/bop.. it's been 'ahem' remodelled. Now the work done is pretty good, but ffs, who on earth named it Heroes. As if that isn't bad enough it's subtitled 'The Home of Legends'

I feel sick - thats got to be a wind up. We seem to be slowly descending down that overly mushy yank way of gung ho-ing (is that a word?) things......

I forsee Line-dancing Para's, sales of large cowboy hats and boots going crazy and mebbe some ridiculously over sized cars. Perhaps a McDonalds and Waffle House if Naafi let them on ;)

You'll find that this is NAAFi's new big idea guys. (NAAFi or XL leisure or whatever they call themselves).

All of their new refurbished bars aimed at singlies are now called "Heroes (Home of legends)". They are rife throughout the Army and Navy Units.

They are also trying to open a more "mature" bar on every unit to cater for couples, with a sort of "Starbucks with alcohol" feel to it.
Now that bit sounds okay (I've seen the pilot bar for the project and it is nice) but HEROES? :PDT_Xtremez_34:

LINK (http://www.naafi.co.uk/heroes.php?menu_list=87) here.

Even worse than thought, the term "HEROES (Home of legends)" refers to ferkin SPORTING "heroes". (Robbie Savage anyone?)

So it seems like we're not going all American gung ho. We're doing the usual British Celebrity worship!

Which is worse do you think?
