Scaley brat

As some of you may know, I took SBjnr up to Lyneham this weekend for our first ever LAN party. I didn't really know if he would enjoy it or get bored or shy and want to leave fairly quickly, so we attended this first LAN without machine's I took my laptop in case he did get board, but apart from one blast on Left4dead
Almost immediately on arrival, he fitted into a room full of people he didn't know and at best had only spoken to on the online comms. Wobbly, diamond geezer that he is, noticed SBjnr looking at his (most impressive) rig playing UT2004. I should say at this point, that the this was the first FPS he ever played and, prior to his introduction to COD 4, his long time favourite.
So he (Wobbly that is) immediately sat SBjnr down at said rig, checked his controls set up and let him loose on the unsuspecting clan in the room. Quickly realising he was in a true multiplayer environment and not merely playing against bots, he rose to the occasion and quickly took his first scalp, I was unable to resist shouting out that he had just been killed by an 8 year old :PDT_Xtremez_28:

He had quite a late night before finally crashing out on top of my sleeping bag, many many thanks to Pie Sandwich and his electric pump for inflating the ready bed in seconds so I could reclaim my own.
On the afternoon of the second day, Kestrel lent SBjnr his PC for the practise session to the COD 4 competition and here is my reason for resurrecting this old thread.
This is a nice photo of his screen, not bad for a young lad :)

Unfortunately I wasn't quick enough to grab the best one where he came first ::D:
Finally, a word from a sponsor

Dude I really hope none of the kids ate these on Saturday..... :PDT_Xtremez_31:
I suppose I should say this was at 0230 and no beer was involved, at all... honest ! :PDT_Xtremez_30:
It would also be quite mean to point out that Pie, Mingmong and I were still chatting and sharing some fine Apfelkorn after a certain "lightweight" had become *tired* :PDT_Xtremez_31:
I was reassured many times that he was a "good kid" and to be fair, he did me proud. but a lot of it was down to the quality of the people there and in no small part to wobbly's own lad, (The one that likes the knife in COD 4). He introduced SBjnr to Gary's mod for Half-life 2, guess what I have to buy now ! :PDT_Xtremez_31:
