Council Tax

Does anyone or their other half have detailed knowledge of why we pay 50% council tax on an empty property, when posted away, be it the sand pits or Germany or ISK. Or singlies who live in pay twice (on their house and in their paychit). Why do you pay 1/2 what the house next door with 2 adults 3 kids pays when your not using any facilities. You can only use the services provided at your location. I know with cars each one has to be taxed put thats B0ll0x too cos you can insure yourself for multiple cars. Why isn`t there any pressure/lobbying to address this. Especially for people on Det ? This is not a rant or funnies I really would like some info.

According to one part of that website - http://www.e-lindsey.gov.uk/council/council-tax/Exemptions.cfm - we are all exempt from paying council tax whilst living in Armend Forces Accomodation so why are any of us in the blocks or in MOD owned SFA paying something called CILOCT?

Where does the money go? The council obviously won't get it as we are exempt from paying it....

So students who dont pay any income tax get that for free too.

Everyone in Scotland in 1989 paid a year more than the rest of the country.
Surely thats constiutionaly Illegal. To tax one set of britons because of their geographical location.
