OK, having seen the fuss being made on TV about this, what is it all about ?

Having seen the freaks waiting in line to get it I don't think it's for me but any goaters playing it ?

Linky to some freaks...... (http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2008/11/13/world-of-warcraft-thousands-queue-in-london-for-wrath-of-the-lich-king-launch-video-115875-20892633/)

Not me!! But my teenage son is completely hooked on the bl00dy thing and if he's not playing it he's talking about it(not that I understand a word I just hope I'm nodding in the right places). I'm told most of the people he knows who play it are between 14 and 30.........

Must add......not a freak queuing though, we pre-ordered months ago and the postie brought it this morning......cue on very happy teenager when he got home from school and now a very quiet one! Result!!!

We had a couple of people take leave today so they could play it non stop to get ahead of their freakish online friends??

What are the SAC's evolving like now, they should be out drinking and causing mayhem, not in a virtual forest with a dwarf by their side

I do hope they are labelled freaks..........as you say thy should be drinking copious pints and then fighting real dwarfs in a real forest......maybe .....

I know one person who played WoW, and end up so hooked his wife divorced him.

I've played it a few times and lost days of my life because I have been so engrossed in the game.

I'd have taken the youth bit as a compliment because the last time you were called that Victoria was on the throne.::P:

There was some right geeks on the news this morning. They were even dressed up as freaks. I was just seeing if I could spot an ex crusader called Badger.

If you think its bad spending all night waiting for a new computer game to come out, the read about these two sad to$$ers in the Daily Mail. (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1085412/Woman-divorces-husband-catching-having-virtual-affair-online-game.html)

I did have a go at that Second Life, it was as boring as fcuk. Luckily it's free to try, but it does get expensive if you want to do anything else.

TBH I enjoy playing the odd computer game but WoW and its ilk just don't flick my bean. Maybe if I was 11 things would be different.

Not obsessed, just played until 2am this morning. :PDT_Xtremez_35:
I know its not real, its not my second life but as I don't smoke or drink I think a bit of geeking is only fair in exchange.
And before you go on about getting out and getting some fresh air I go shooting twice a week (7hrs in rain or shine) & cycle 5 miles every day.

I play it and it has not taken over my life. Being a lvl 31 Warrior, currently on a quest in the Wetlands is cool. Only another 49 levels to go!!

This thread reminds me of the 'Make love not Warcraft' episode of Southpark. I think this picture pretty much typifies the stereotypical Warcraft geek.

Currently running around Northrend with my BT clear Druid. Got a 70 shammy and rogue too.

That said, I spend a lot of time away from home and can't afford to go drinking every night so it keeps me out of trouble.

At the risk of sounding geeky, play WoW too with a lvl 56 Mage. Hasn't taken over my life much though it may have something to with why me and the wife are separated.:PDT_Xtremez_17:

May buy the expansion pack sometime but notright now.

Guys, seriously, what is the thrill in playing it?

I mean, I wouldn't be able to sit there commanding a hero blokie to move to another player, and tw4t him round the head... Let alone for half an hour... :PDT_Xtremez_41:

It's just me I know, but really, what is the commotion about? I'm intrigued...

If after playing your 10 day trial and are happy to terminate your lovingly cared for alter ego as Tashy Man says "Crack on"
However if on the other hand you feel an afinity to them and have honed their skills you may feel obligated to continue their existance.
Like most things try then decide.

been playing for 2 years now, just got my mage to lvl 80 now for my rogue. In all honesty WoW is addictive but is managable, where as FFX1 is deadly addictive as it takes 4hrs just to achieve something. As WoW you can achieve something in 5 mins then log off.

I will never even consider playing world of warcraft.

I visited a mate at uni once and after a fairly heavy night, in the morning he said "sorry i'm not much fun when I'm hung over", turned on his computer and had a few world of war craft battles, or whatever it is they do. All I saw were some badly animated little characters running around a map trying to kill each other, in a badly animated kind of way.
