Anyone out there thought that something, be it food, drink, music, tv, etc etc from your past was at that time the best thing ever.
However in reality when you tried it now its is actually quite shocking and you probably regreted trying it and it's ruined your memories.
My example of this was having spend some time in Cyprus drinking various alcohol, discovered Kokoneli (not sure of the spelling for all you nitpickers)
loved it.
About 15 years later a friend of mine brought some back and to my amazement I found it quite vile and so fecking sweet.
I suppose its just things do change as you get older but hey hoh and all that.
One thing though Sarah Jane is still quite fit !!!:PDT_Xtremez_40:

I remember the TV series Space 1999 being really futuristic with cool Eagle spaceships on when I was a kid.
Then it was repeated on Channel 4 some years ago, and its actually pretty cheap garbage.

Airwolf.

Loved it as a kid.

Seen it again. Crap.

Why is the most futuristic helicopter in the world, bullet proof, mach 2+, missiles, chain guns, flys up into space - always pitted against an old Lancaster bomber, or a Spitfire with missiles? The CIA can't find the helicopter either... emm, follow the old boy from his work, or eh, track their jeep.

Tacky as feck, but the chopper looks mint.

The Goodies used to have me in stitches as a kid, but watched the reruns this year and couldn't think why I found it funny. I was really disappointed as it was one of the shows where I always used to think it would be great to see back on air.

Unfortunately the heli they used is no more

From Wikipedia

"After the show was cancelled the modifications were removed (now owned by a private collector) from the actual helicopter. It was repainted and eventually sold to the German helicopter charter company, Hubschrauber-Sonder-Dienst (aka HSD Luftrettung and Blue Helicopter Alliance), and given the registration number D-HHSD.[2] While operating as an air ambulance the helicopter crashed in a thunderstorm on June 6, 1992,[3] killing its three passengers."

Off Topic It wouldn't have happened if Ernest Borgnine had been on board.

Saw a re-run of CHiPs a few years ago. My favourite programme as a kid, I even made my parents buy me mirrored sunglasses. What a pile of shoite.

Dandelion & Burdock pop is another one. How I ever managed to drink it without my teeth falling instantly out of my head I'll never know. But once upon a time it was my favourite drink.

I used to watch UFO (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UFO_(TV_series)) and thought is was the business. :PDT_Xtremez_22:Watched some reruns recently and it was a bit dud, :PDT_Xtremez_26:but it did have Gabrielle Drake in it which made up for it. :PDT_Xtremez_28:

It's got to be The Lone Ranger for me. He was my hero when I was about 5... 'Who was that man?' 'That was the Lone Ranger' 'Hey ho Silver away' and all that jazz. I reckon the budget must have been $10.

Indeed Kokinelli, the self regulating drink, when you couldn't say it you'd had enough! The Brittania for a kebab, on to Heroes Square for a "cabaret" in the Green rock? followed by a few more bevies in the discos on the bypass. Ah what a way to go:PDT_Xtremez_14:

Did I hear a rumour that they're remaking it soon?

I particularly enjoyed "Tales from the Water Margin" (from Ling Shan Po).
Not very well dubbed, but damned good at he time. I even bought the single of the music.

"Do not despise the snake; for who can say that a snake may not turn - into a dragon ?" (outgoing voice-over by Bert Kwouk)

My other favourite was Dr Who; at the time John Pertwee starred. Magic.

Those are the ones I remember too. And wagon wheels that were the diameter of a dustbin lid.

Anyone remember Lucky Bags which had some sweeties, a little joke book and a teensy toy in them?

Space 1999 and UFO are all still running on ITV 4 and the geezer from Blur is doing a musical version of Monkey as a stage show I believe.

Magpie (especially Susan Stranks) and HOW was the stuff for me as a kid. Jack Hargreaves showing you how to tie a Bosun's Chufflock knot and I am sure that there was a presenter called Bunty!

Would love to see Casey Jones and the Cannonball Express run again!
