Hi guys Wobbly and I came back from Afghanistan on Monday night (thank you to all that sent wishes to us via BFBS and mail).
This has slightly been done by auchtermuchty, however I have two kids aged 9 and 12 and am after as much info about Cosford quarters as I can get, I am posted in on the 1st Dec to AvMTS and am ummin and arring over areas.
Which would be better, Messes or Albrighton, I know the third bedroom in Talbot road is tiny as I spent 9 months in one but is this the best option for schooling?
Any help here would be gratefully appreciated.

Hey Harry none of that round here. It might have been when the quarters opened but not now. There is no more trouble here than the quarters down on Tossford, at least the cars dont get burnt out here.
Its all quiet here or i wouldnt be here and I've been here 3 yrs now. Ask anyone who's here.

And there's me thinking "a fresh start" and the past haunts me once again....ooohhhh
I dont want to sound to excited but I am looking forward to getting there and bumping into old friends and not fences this time(for those in the know).
Are there houses with down stairs toilets as my daughter suffers with a hip complaint?

The houses at Redhill have downstairs toilets, as well as an on suite and main bathroom toilet upstairs.

just completed 6 1/2 yrs at cosford :PDT_Xtremez_30: the quarters at cosford are split into two, the OMQ site (in the fence line) with grade 1's and garage and downstairs loo. some sncos can get the old officers quaters. and the airmans site, no gate or guards, grade 1-4. top tip don't ask for any street that begins with a V, ie Victora or vincent as they don't have enough room to swing a LAC. and loads of trainees put in these houses, so loud noise and the area looks like a council estate around some of their houses
the gardens are small with 3 foot wire fences, so no privacy and you get next doors dog digging up your garden. in the village, albrighton houses split into two. no 1 to about 28 have front rooms at front and the rest have kitchens at front. all had upgraded kitchens put in 5 years ago and have tons of storage space as their is only a few garages there.
its hit and miss to garden size, added bonus is that the village is about 3 mins walk. my kids went to st mary's in the village. very good school. friend went to albrighton juniors, they also pleased about. don't know about donnington. airmans site can get noisy the odd weekend in summer due to the sports stadium and your trapped in during the air show as the two lanes are made into a dual carriage way.
enjoy!!!
my tip also you get chance to complete a teaching qualification there, takes about 18 mths, costs nothing and lets you teach post compulsary education if you wish to when you leave and also a teaching degree after that. this takes about 2 years.
have fun, i did and still smiling dispate being at cottesmore.
forgot local high school is Itsall, about 10 mins by coach in shifnal, modern and looked good when i went around last year

I have been allocated a quarter in Albrighton and the wife and I are happy as we used to live there a few years back, it is on the opposite end this time but we would still like to come up and visit just to put her worries at ease.
Are the quarters the same size all along the street or are they rearranged due to the kitchen in the front and is there still a dining room fitted or shared with the livingroom?
