A sad day, who else remembers marshalling them around the ASP at Halton Airfield with the Argosies in the background.
Heheheh, I see I'm amongst fellow old scrotes now.

I remember doing that and screwing it up, well I was just an AC. Funny thing was marshalling the snec around on his bike, eight years later I ended up working for Boyd Davies in Brize.:PDT_Xtremez_28:

They used to stick 'red flash' (I stand by to be corrected) on the wing tips where the tanks were to simulate armed aircraft, huge in scale. (in my 17yr old mind anyway). Rocky Lane was the Chief, had a road sign outside his window. My first ever ground run 'sigh'. Also my first wet experience when some gimp lost control of the gravity filler that should have been in the wing and drenched half the course!!

I was just browsing the pages of pprune. If, however, I was after a good spotters site I would just ask you. I know you have nothing better to do in your spare time.:PDT_Xtremez_30:

Nope, where did you hear that? Umpteen rumours don't (yet) make a truth.

Well my in-laws live very close to Cosford and they have heard via the news/TV that it is to become an army camp.......I mentioned nothing to the missus about this thread (mainly because that would involve talking to her which i only do if i really have to !)
May be all at tossford should start learing Welsh :-) Crack on .... :PDT_Xtremez_09:

You know what they say - Never believe a rumour until you've heard it denied!!
Anyway I reckon it'll make a great Asylum Centre - it would give the poor b@stards down south a break and they could use the runway to fly the fekkers back home when their appeals fail.
I'm thinking of becoming a Magistrate so I reckon loads of appeals will fail and it will be a big success

when i was at cosford (albeit only 3 years ago) the instructors at LTF gave us a little bit of info and said the things were only worth about 15 grand, seems they were right. Theyre worth naff all. Are they airworthy?? buy one and use it as a toy! kick the ass out of any cessna, however for that u need a PPL,which i aint got,nor can afford, i'll just stick to cars i think
and jags on the site for 7.5k stripped for display, wonder how much the other ones would cost, the ones that say POA and still have engines in??
This (http://www.edisposals.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/Disposals-Public-Site/en_US/-/GBP/ViewProductDetail-Start;pgid=MieqQ4wkQg8000ArvQ_8K1sp0000vVxK6oba?Pr oductUUID=QqLAqBIP4ToAAAERo7wVoEUT&CatalogCategoryID=uW7AqBELbsEAAAD_vUBpc4dn&JumpTo=OfferList) might bring a tear to the eyes of you old fellas ! I wonder what it will fetch.
