The singly techies live in a couple of the old married quarters in the
Sheilings.

TAD, for info mate the houses are big old officer quarters, so lots of space.
You can almost throw a stone from them in to the grounds of the old admin/domestic site.

Buy a decent windproof jacket, you will need it it can blow a b@stard gale up there at times.

Boddam: bottom of the main road is the seaview hotel not bad for a few pints and a game of pool on a quiet night.

Or as you turn onto the A90 at Stirling village is the Rocksley inn, proper spit & sawdust little boozer.

Peterhead is now rammed with russians & poles from what I heard from of late, and the Granada/Pier II nightclub is a no go zone unless you are of the above nationality.

However Baillie's is top little boozer for watching the footy in. Run by a decent bloke called Raymond who also owns the Waverley Hotel behind the cop shop.

Try the Nazma curry house- spot on, or at least it used to be. Errols kebab house- food of the gods after a few beers especially the chicken fantasia.

Aberdeen: Just do it. Fantastic night on the lash, rammed with decent looking totty- home grown & students.

Hope this helps!

It's ok up there. Don't ask for chips with your fish supper! They come with it and you will end up with loads!:PDT_Xtremez_28:

When you go to the pub I reccommend what JAFAD666 told me to do many years ago. Stride in head high and order, loudly in your best cokney accent "A pint of fizzy and sum jellied eels".

Locals are all friendly types and will be laughing for ages.

'twas a Donner Bursa for me every time (no wonder I have an expanding waistline!)

A few other highlights of my tour up there ...

McDonalds about 1/2 a mile away towards Peterhead was always handy for that Saturday morning hangover cure (Big 'n' Tasty and a kick ass strong coffee!)

Plenty of rock climbing (if that floats ur boat!) within 5 mins drive - Grey Mare Slabs, Meikle Partans - short single pitch sea-cliff climbs from VD to E numbers!

Passion / De Ja Vu or whatever they call it these days was the better night club - Pier II / Granada / The "G" were always "Grab-a-Granny".

MAMBO's only just opened the upstairs club when I was there, but was always ram packed it was so small!

Also, agreed, best night out to be had in Aberdeen ... plenty of pubs and clubs for all tastes ... the 7 deadly sins in Slain's Castle are a must (just don't do them all at once - it gets messy!)

Having come from peterhead i'd say it isn't the worst place in the world and theres alot of money going into building new houses and flats and such the like, the palace hotel is a good bar and have some good bands on every weekend. And yes it is full of ruskies and poles but i've never had any prob's tbh. Like someone said aberdeen is the place you wanna go for a night out and shopping etc, easy enough to get to and it's only about 20 mins away.

ISTR the bus fare wasn't too extortionate from Boddam to Abdn either, although a taxi back at silly am was rather more expensive :PDT_Xtremez_17:
