Since becoming World champions the 'boks havent sat on their laurels. Not only have they rescinded the order that stated they must have a quota of coloured players, they have also lifted the ban on playing overseas if you wish to be considered for selection for the national side.

Considering that John Smit, Butch James, Percy Montogmery, Victor Matfield and Gary Botha are all moving abroad this seems like a good idea to me as it will allow the team some continuity in building to RWC 2011.

If only England had been as proactive four years ago!:PDT_Xtremez_21:

We may get lucky this time round!

As much as I dislike SA rugby you have to admire them for the way they go about it off the field. I am looking forward to seeing what happens to rugby in SA with no quotas

Within English sporting history I think we have won all of the major trophies at one time or another, we have a very good track record of achievement.

Problem though.......when was the last time we actually retained anything???

Round Ball word cup...cricket, rugby etc, the list will go on and on. We never plan long term or for retention, succession planning is something that we sadly lack. We praise winners, put them on a pedastal only to knock them off again.

I say good luck to SA for being the first country to be pro-active, perhaps we can all learn from them (Politics apart)

Yes, we have been consistently luckier than any other home nation too
