Well guys, its finally happened. I'll be joining your merry band on 18 Feb as part of the raghead manning increase.

Never having been posted to Cosford before I need some info on which FMQ's I should apply for. Indeed do I have an option or is there only one patch? I am a single parent so would like somewhere with a before/after school club nearby. Really everything else falls secondary to this otherwise I cant get to work!:PDT_Xtremez_21:

Any suggestions?

You will find that I am not destined for a further career in the diplomatic service.

Firstly welcome to the happy band. FMQ's basically four options are available.

1. Redhill area about 15/20 mins drive away down the motorway probably your worst option for time and distance, schools etc. but near to ASDA

2. Albrighton about 5 mins drive but stuck in a local village good for pubs and chippies but pre-school child care is on camp. It is however the location of the primary schoool the scaley brats go to. depends on the age of your nippers to be honest.

3. So called "snec's patch" is on camp but across the main road buses for kiddies to/from school

4. Airmans patch again on camp but close to families club, spar shop, on camp nursery and pick up point for school buses.

If it was me No.4 gets the vote. Almost all secondary school age nippers go to a local school nearby again bused in and out. Can give more specific details via PM if you need them OPSEC PERSEC and all that.

Just left the Airmans Quarters there, very good for what you pay for Myself and the Wife were in the top corner, Victor close and where very happy. Nothing compared to the rented quarters here in Ramstein though :)

I myself am at redhill and have no complaints regarding the housing, apart from the absolute wanker s that back onto us, who have no connections to the mob anymore and DE are looking at getting hoofed out. For child care then any a Cosford will suit you down to the ground.

What section are you going to? Is it dark side or sunny side? If you've got the line then we start before everyone else and finish a little earlier, but will help cover if needed.

Oh welcome to the funny farm.:PDT_Xtremez_30:

Try to get a place on the mess side of camp, keeps you away from the bronx and getting your car torched by some scaley brat gangsta wannabe or ****ed up wife in her ron hills

Or even better move to your own gaff straight away and leave the kn0bs you will have to work with everyday behind you.

Well guys and girls, been up and had a look around yesterday and even managed to find out where I'm going to be working......AvMTS!

More correctly AvTF, which appears to be undermanned, overtasked and higher on morale than I'm used to or maybe its just that the WO has an infectious personality as he's as mad as a bag of frogs.

I'm actually looking forward to it:PDT_Xtremez_42:

Welcome to the Squadron that does the TECHNICAL Training at Cosford, not the place that teaches petrol pump attendants! I look forward to meeting you in Feb 08, you can't miss me, I'm the one with the Captain's insignia on his uniform.

By the way, our Wobbly is 6 ft 2 and has shoulders like a Welsh dresser so unless P*** D****** had had a body rebuild I think some people may have the wrong person.

P*** D****** is the WO over at the Av side of AvMTS within the "Darkside" of Tossford..... And don't forget "Darkside" or "Lightside" is is the luck of the draw and people within these sections are NOT to blame.....
