Big Laurence has come out with some damming comments about Ashton, pre world cup, I had serious doubts he was the right man for the job, but he seemed to prove his doubters wrong. Well not inside the camp it seems !

I'll take anything Dallaglio says with a pinch of salt, there's no doubt that there were problems in the England camp at the world cup, but were they as bad as he’s trying to portray them, I'm not sure.

Ashton doesn't have the man management skill of Clive Woodward but he's a better coach, CW realised his limitations and surrounded himself with some of the best coaches in the country, unfortunately BA is the head coach and can't easily delegate the man management without losing creditability with the players. The question is can England afford to have only half the package in the top man and if not where else do the RFU look, Jake White seems to have thrown his hat into the ring but I can't see England retaining BA as a coach if they take the top job off him.

Anyway I’d rather see an Englishman in charge.

I wonder if Dallaglio's comments have got anything to do with him rewriting the last chapter of his autobiography and it being serialised in the papers? Call me a cynic .........

Spot on Tommo, nothing like a bit of controvesy before a book launch......oh look Catty is bringing one out too.....a sad way to finish outstanding careers as all we are left with is a bad taste of their final appearances.

I echo the words of Deano (here (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_union/english/7066698.stm)), players are starting to bleat like footballers, anything to ensure the sales of a book or newspaper column.

Never a truer word said - bloody prima donna's believing their own press. Dayglo has always been outspoken (gobsh1te). To be honest - I never pay any attention to the man.
